A MODEL allegedly ordered her husband’s execution at her son’s fourth birthday party.
Camila Marodin, who is suspected of living a secret life as the queen of the cartel, was arrested after Ricardo Marodin was shot dead during the family celebration on November 7th.
Initially, the police believed that Ricardo was the leader of the gang, but now they understand that his wife holds a high position in the criminal organization of the coastal city of Matinhos, Paraná.
After her death, the Brazilian beauty told authorities that the murder was probably a case of misidentification.
But the fashion influencer has since been arrested for the shooting of Ricardo and the death of two former police officers.
She was reportedly caught on her way home from her mother’s house, where she allegedly hid a Glock pistol.
The weapon, buried in the garden, was later recovered by officers.
Payments totaling more than 1.3 million Brazilian reais (178,000 pounds) were also discovered in Camila’s bank account.
Military police said they had been investigating the gang for several years as part of Operation Ostentation, during which 13 homes worth BRL 3 million, five cars, including two Audi and a Porsche, and 39 weapons were seized.
Colonel Hudson Leñncio Teixeira, commander of the Paraná military police, said: “They were presented in high-end places, with expensive cars and motorcycles.
“They didn’t hide anything they got from crime, drug trafficking and money laundering.”
Fourteen other people were arrested.
The police spokesman, Colonel Barroso, said that Camila’s was already planned, but that it had to be brought forward after the death of her husband and ex-policemen Thiago César Carvalho and Guilherme Antonio da Costa.
They were killed in the neighborhood of Cajuru, in the state capital of Paraná, Curitiba, three days after Ricardo.
Ricardo was reportedly shot dead at the end of his son’s fourth birthday party in the town of Pinhais.
Four armed suspects are said to have arrived in a silver Volkswagen Voyage and fired several shots at Ricardo, who died on the spot.
Days later, on the morning of November 10, two former police officers were shot dead by gunmen in a silver Volkswagen Voyage, possibly the same one used in Ricardo’s shooting.
Homicide investigator Tito Barichello said the crimes could be related, as Ricardo and Thiago knew each other.
The investigation continues.
