Breaking news

England’s fifth test against India at Old Trafford has been canceled after some of the tourists ’employees tested positive on Covid-19.

India has been unable to present a team because they fear more cases will be spread by their team.

India lost the match, meaning the series drew 2-2.

A statement from the Cricket Board of England and Wales said: “We send our sincere apologies to fans and partners for this news.”

He added: “We know it will cause immense disappointment and inconvenience to many.”

Head coach Ravi Shastri tested positive during India’s fourth win in India, forcing bowling coach Bharat Arun, field coach Ramakrishnan Sridhar and physiotherapist Nitin Pate to isolate themselves.

Another member of the rear camera staff tested positive on Thursday.

India canceled training on Thursday, but a subsequent round of testing did not show positive results among the players and it was stated that the test would continue as planned.

However, the announcement to cancel the match was made just over two hours before it started in Manchester.
